Ukraine should carefully look for New Arguments in the Negotiations on Gas, - Volodymyr Lytvyn
Staying with a working visit in Zhytomyr region on Friday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, was asked about the results of Ukrainian-Russian negotiations on gas. He stated that the dialogue in Moscow confirmed the importance of more substantiated support of Ukraine´s standpoint.
"We agree that Ukraine can not afford the price for gas which exceeds the rates in other countries. Ukraine should carefully look for new arguments," V.Lytvyn stated.
He believes that one should not exult over the lack of result. The Head of the Parliament is convinced that Ukraine can defend an impartial standpoint. "Both Russia and Ukraine are interested in normal effective relations, the more so, because in 2011 we plan to reach a 50-billion trade turnover," V.Lytvyn stressed.
